Warning Description: High Surf Advisory
Warning Date: 5:00 am PDT on March 18, 2012
WarningSum:...High Surf Advisory Remains In Effect Until 2 Am Pdt Monday...
Warning Message:A high surf advisory remains in effect until 2 am PDT Monday.
* Waves and surf: 5 to 7 feet with local sets to 9 feet Sunday...
subsiding below 7 feet early Monday morning.
* Tides: high tide this morning around 7 am at 5.4 feet. Low tide
this afternoon around 200 PM at minus 0.5 feet. High tide this evening
around 820 PM at 4.7 feet.
* Timing: until 2 am Monday.
* Impacts: minor to moderate beach erosion and flooding of low
lying coastal areas are possible. Waves breaking over jetties
and rocks in or near the surf zone. Entrances to harbors will
be dangerous due to breaking waves...especially during low
tide.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
